good quote and a solid toon. They never gave my father tenure at NYY even though he had a following and made the school a lot of money. I sense had he been more willing to don the blinders and elbow pads whatever and said the right things he might of gotten it. dave
Thanks for the comment, Dave. Yes, I wish your dad could have gazed at that cartoon. Most of those who have tenure, of course, will not likely agree with it. Their very souls depend on disagreeing with it. One professor, Kerry Anne Rockquemore, actually writes a weekly column called: Winning Tenure without Losing Your Soul. Add to that “without losing your dignity” and welcome to Denial in the ivory Tower.
