Well, that was quick! You must be on constant egocentric lookout for anything with your name attached. Anyhow, this was an old cartoon. I wanted it on the internet for the public record. Thankfully, higher ed has not yet managed to FILTER out such material. Inside Higher Ed has censored at least 20 of my comments, none of which contained prohibited words, insults, or threats. If IHE were not an academic-oriented publication, I would not have protested. Academe, you see Herr Lemee, should be an arena of vigorous debate, cornerstone of democracy. And as we both know, thanks to IHE, you and so many others, especially of the PC ilk, it is not. Now, what did you do to try to convince your boss and colleagues at IHE to be more open to different viewpoints and less apt to kneejerk censor them? Ah, so, I’m the “idiot”?
Herr Emerson, you ought to know that censorship comes in many, many disguises and euphemisms today. Yes, let’s call it moderating, or editing out, or maintaining a family-friendly environment, or some other idiocy, as in hate speech is not free speech, therefore should be eradicated. What ever you wish to call or deem it, the fact remains: my speech (comment, opinion) was eliminated and my voice not permitted in the academic arena of ideas. For me, that’s censorship. For you, that’s probably maintaining a professorial-friendly environment. Thanks for the comment!

Editing is not censorship. Whoever it was that did it didn't censor you.
