Hey George, Good to see you haven't lost your edge. Still razor sharp.
This issue has become frustrating false dichotomy. "You're with 'black lives matter' or you're with the cops," seems to be the informal mantra. The problem with picking a side, which people tend to do with issues of this nature, is that it usually entails refusing to see or being utterly incapable of seeing the bullshit on the side which we picked. Some blue lives can be undoubtedly corrupt (so lets not become apologists for the police here). I have witnessed police corruption first hand, and when I tried to do something about it I was met with a "blue wall of silence." (but wait, I'm supposed to be privileged because I'm white, right?). And just as blue lives are not all saints and heroes, neither are all black lives. However, whenever their is conflict between a white and a black the default, knee jerk, assumption is that the white guy must have been racist.
Unfortunately, be it liberal or conservative, this is the behavior exhibited by true believers. Feeble minds, manipulated by the media with an in group out group, binary, slogan reiterating, counterfeit reality. Black lives matter, all lives matter, four legs good, two legs bad, and on and on it goes... What "matters" to me is not being indoctrinated and manipulated by the establishment. All lives shall be subject to ridicule and criticism.
it seems black lives matter only matter to Black Lives Matter when a black person is killed by a cop, but say twenty people are killed over a week end in Chicago and those black lives don't matter so much.
